Jenny McCarthy? NOOOOO!!!!!

What is this nonsense???!!!
"I SAVED MY SON"?? He needed "fixing"??
She is specifically quoted as saying:
"I made a deal with God," she explains. "I said, 'You fix my boy, you show me the way and I'll teach the world how I did it.'"

Wow, if I was not determined to stay neutral & all that, I would rally against her.
All the hype is killing me!! Why do a lot of parents think she is a saint? Am I missing something??!!
She makes me ill!
JM has said she "cured" her son ,
It is right here:
I realize I am ranting & that I am usually neutral- but this is
pestering me to no end at the moment.
Sorry, my mouth runneth over tonight!

Actually, what I said was that she used the word cure but she didn't mean that he was completely autism free - she even said that if he goes off the diet he regresses - that is not the true meaning of "cure". Frankly, I don't understand what you are so upset about. She helped her son with diet and is trying to get others to realize 1) that vaccines likely cause autism and 2) that diet can help almost miraculously - both things we have dicussed before and I thought you agreed with. Is your problem with the word "cure"? I'd take that with a grain of salt if she gets people to believe the other two things.

Also, what do you mean by the sarcastic "He needed 'fixing'"? Should she have just left him the way he was? Without looking for something to help him? You wouldn't do that. If you thought there was help for a problem your child had - even if others thought it was silly or radical - you'd do it, I know you.

I'm afraid that I can't agree with you. I think it is great that someone in the limelight is bringing attention to the vaccine/autism link as well as the celiac/gluten diet solution. Even if she may not have phrased everything as perfectly as we may have liked.

I am obviously not as upset as I was when I read the actual article... but I work hard to maintain steady emotions in my home.
I have given my son homeopathic treatments, fish oil supplements, cut his dairy back, given him epsom salt baths, taken him to a chiropractor that gave him ionic foot baths, shunned all vaccines for him, etc.
I have no problem with "treatments" & "diet tweaking"... none at all.

I did all this because I want my son to be happy & I wanted some relief from his tantrums & high-energy levels.
He is healthy & happier now.

YOU ARE RIGHT- It WAS the terminology she used...
I AM nit-picking. It was just one post on a day when I felt like that... that is what my blog is for.
Thanks for your comment.
